Personal Statement
My name is Lauren Thomsen, I come from a small town in Idaho, and I am a very hardworking student athlete. I'm very dedicated to this sport and have played it since I was 10 years old. My most important accomplishment in the sport is making varsity my freshmen year, becoming the starting catcher, hitting the first homerun for the team that season, and having the second highest batting average on the team all in one season.
My personality is naturally very competitive in everything I do. I push myself over my comfort-zone to become the best I can be . I can promise, for any team I play for, that I will be hardworking and there to win. I liked to be pushed to my limit and over my limit. I like when practice has a high intensity and is with players and coaches who are there to win.
When it comes to choosing what school I want to go to, I am very open-minded. I am open to going anywhere in the country to go play softball. It doesn't matter the location or size of the college, as long as I'm playing softball I'm happy. My top two choices for a major is engineering and business. I'm also very interested in the military, the two branches I'm currently looking at is the Air Force and the Marine Core.
My overall athletic goal is to play softball at a high level of competition, push myself to be the best athlete I can be, and knowing at the end of the day that I did what I could to help my team win and help my teammates improve.
