Aliya Garcia '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aliya Garcia and I'm currently a Junior at Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences. (CHSAS) As a freshman, I was the starting catcher for the varsity team and now still hold that position as a Junior.  I've been playing softball for over 7 years and started my softball career at Evergreen Park Eclipse when I was 10 years old. I currently play for the Evergreen Park Eclipse 16u travel team. I love Evergreen Park because of the outstanding coaches who have molded me into the player I am today.  Evergreen Park has also made me realize how Softball is more than just a sport.  It has taught me life values like leadership, teamwork, dedication, and accountability. I strive to always be the best player I can be regardless of who is watching. I thrive off personal growth and continue to be a strong vocal leader on and off the field. However, my studies in the classroom are my top priority. I take full advantage of tutor sessions, study groups, and lunch periods and constantly address my concerns to instructors when in doubt. I want to pursue a career in sports management. I hope to find a school that can accommodate my academic and athletic needs. My lifetime goal is to play softball for as long as I can.  The day my softball career is over.  I hope to fill that void by having a successful career in sports management as an athletic director.
