Personnel Statement:
Hi My name is Laken Larson, I’m a hardworking softball player and catcher. I have been dedicated to the sport since I was 7 years old. I have found since I have been playing competitive softball I’m very organized and pay attention to detail .This year would have been my first high school season as a freshman. I was asked to play Varsity as well. However our season had been cut short fast with the Pandemic. When I’m not in my high school season, I play for a travel team called QC Firebirds. Our Firebirds team has won 4 state championship 3 were Usssa State, and one was NSA State. We were also NSA 14A world SERIES runner up and PGF stars of tomorrow Runner up. We also won the Kiss the Cup invitational Championship and finally 5th in that Top Gun KC event. Our team has been in 24 tournaments last season and played about 130 games. What I can offer to a softball team is team work and dedication to always do my best.
I like to meet with my team mates to practice drills in my free time and catching and throwing so I continue to keep up on my skills. I have a very supportive family. My parents make sure I have plenty of lessons for hitting and catching and are always supportive for every tournament we sign up to compete in.
When it comes to choosing a college to go to, I would to love to be on a highly competitive softball team, but also a college that offers a good education. My top two choices for a major are to become a veterinarian, nursing /health related field. I have been on the honor roll and currently take advance classes as a freshman.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love, but to also to be able to mentor others in the sport someday. I would love to show the fun I find in the sport to other kids playing competitively.
