Personal Statement
Ever since my first year of tee-ball, I have known I wanted to play softball. I started off just playing rec league softball, but then I knew I needed more than that if I wanted to become a better athlete. I went and played for Geneseo Green Xtreme. I started off at third. That was my spot. But, down the road I had a love for catching. I fell in love with the position and trained to get better every day. I loved the action behind the plate. Being involved with every single play was something I loved. The excitement of throwing someone out is just amazing. I work really hard at it.
I am a very coach-able athlete. If someone gives me advice, whether it being my coach, my dad, or a player, I will use the advice and try and do what is asked. I work to the best of my ability 100% of the time. High school season was awesome. I came out second string catcher on varsity, was starting at third. A couple games in I was starting catcher almost every game. Our regional games I caught them. I received honorable mention which was pretty amazing being the freshman up on varsity. It was an exciting moment as a freshman.
During the summer I play for my travel team. As a team, we have won a state championship, and placed 5th at nationals. As a 15u team playing 16u we did pretty great. I love playing softball year round.
School is something I will always put first. I strive to have a high GPA. I am top 10 in my class and I want to be able to keep moving up. I am a focused, hard working student. I just know I have to keep working hard at school if i ever want to be able to take my softball career to the next level. My dream school is University of Iowa. I want to go into the medical field and play softball. It will be a lot of work, but I believe I can do it.
