My name is Ashlee Kawall, and I just completed my first year this 2014 season at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL. I am a slap hitting base stealer (2.42 home to first best time) and I finished in the top ten in the nation for NJCAA Div II scholarship colleges in triples (7) and stolen bases (39/40) this season at WCC. In additon, I was in the top 15 nationally in batting average and OBP. I also batted .611 and was 59/61 in stolen bases in 2012 high school year and batted .605 with 46/47 in stolen bases senior year 2013. My career 158 stolen bases would rank me 12th all time in IHSA record books for a career. I am one of only five players in the history of the IHSA to have at least 70 hits, 60 runs scored and 50 stolen bases in the same season. My career .584 batting average also ranks me 7th all time in the IHSA record books as well. I am looking for the opportunity to help a college softball program continue to excel in conference and the post season. I'd work very hard on the field and in the classroom (my HS GPA was 4.02 on a 4 scale) as I complete my degree in psychology. I am looking for a quality softball program after my sophomore year at Waubonsee that has my degree major and believes in hustle and hard work. I have always dreamed of playing softball in college and at the highest level! In addition, to play for a program that would be in need of a player with speed/quickness on defense and on the bases. This past summer in 2013 I played in the Women's Fastpitch League and in 2012 I played on my club team the 18U "A" Northern Illinois Thunder (which finished 7th at the National World Series in Florida and at year's end ranked 5th nationally in USSSA A division). I batted .514 with .570 OBP scored 41 runs and was 54/55 in stolen bases. The team also finished 9 th out of 60+ teams in 2011 at the USSSA 16U "A" World Series in Overland Park, KS. I have had the honor to be selected to be a co-captain of my teams and 2013 season was selected to the Mizuno Super60 All Star Series (for the top seniors in the state of Illinois) in East Peoria, IL. I've been selected to numerous all tournament teams and have received many recognitions the past two years. Most recently, I was selected to the 2013 Illinois High School Coaches Association All State Softball Team-Second team after being 2012 First Team and Second team honors in 2011 as a sophomore. Also, 2013 and 2012 Ottawa Times News All Area-First Team unanimous selection and 2013 Aurora Beacon News All Area First-Team. But I am most proud of the recent successes of my high school and summer club teams in winning conference, tournaments and World Series successes. I am looking forward to the upcoming season at Waubonsee CC and would like to continue playing after that for a college that believes in teamwork and fighting to be the best we can be. Ultimately, location of a college is not a priority so I am open to location. The most successful teams I have ever been on become like a second family and that is one of the most important things I am looking for as I leave high school enter Waubonsee CC and continue on! Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to speaking to you in the very near future!
