Personal Statement
For starters, academics is very important to me as I'm a honor role student with a GPA over 4.0. Also, I serve on the Student Council and the Captains Council, which is an inaugural program in which athletes were selected by coaches/teachers based on their leadership skills. I'm the youngest member and the only sophomore that is on this council.
Athletically, the simple answer is that I can pitch, hit for power/average, play anywhere on the field and I'm a true student of the game. It's my passion and love for the game that makes me special and has attracted me to coaches in the competitive and college ranks. I take great pride in trying to be the best player possible whether it be at a practice and/or each and every pitch of a game. I'm a quiet leader who leads by example on the diamond and is a good role model for her teammates.
One attractive feature is that I'm extremely versatile and can play any position (except catcher) on the diamond without the team missing a beat. I'm a very consistent player game in and game out and rarely make a mistake on the field. I have great hands, above average arm and range with great reaction to the ball.
I'm most noted for my hitting as I'm an extremely disciplined hitter with quick hands. I have always batted in the 3 spot for my travel teams because of my discipline at the plate, power, and the ability to hit for a high average. If you ever look at a spray chart, I will hit the ball to all fields and with power. I'm very smart in the batter’s box, and always thinking how a pitcher is trying to get me out and making adjustments to my AB on the fly. When I see a pitch I like I'm aggressive, however, I will also make a pitcher work for every pitch in each at bat. I wait back well on the change of speeds and square up pitches in all zones well.
I have worked hard to place myself in this position and anyone who sees me on a game to game basis can see what benefit I can be to a college softball program. If requested, I can provide any referrals in the form of college coaches or trainers.
