My name is Emily Schottelkotte and I am a freshman at William Borden High School. It is my goal to play softball at the collegiate level and hopefully on an athletic/academic scholarship. I have aspired to play college softball ever since I started to play and watch softball. My dad and I have always watch sports ever since I was little and as soon as I moved to Borden and saw that girls could play softball and get really could at it, I started to hope that could be me one day to. I love and respect the game of fast pitch and how hard you have to work to be good at it. I am a hard worker and have always had high expectations of myself while playing this game. I am a supportive teammate and always encourage my teammates to keep working hard and achieve their goals to. You can't control everything, but you can control how you except and choose to react to things. As a a pitcher I am known for being left handed, my different pitches, and my intimidating grunt. I am always trying to keep hitters off balance and work the plate. My coaches have always said that I can be a good hitter, I just need to believe in myself to do it, as I keep working hard, big improvements are being seen at the plate. I can also play outfield, but will play anywhere you need me. I have often been complemented by coaches on my knowledge about the game and my positive attitude on and off the field. I am a very positive person and always like putting people in a good mood before going into a game. I like to be given corrections, because I always want to get better in every possible way I can on and off the field. I am very competitive in everything I do, always wanting to get better in every aspect.
Academically, I am a very good student, always working hard to maintain good grades. My parents have always told me that school comes first then sports. I am very driven both academically and athletically, and am willing to put in the work to meet my goals.
