Personal Statement
My name is Ashlynn Grubb. I am currently a junior at Lakeland High School in Lagrange, Indiana. I have played softball since nine years old ... playing both for my school and on a travel team (Hurricanes out of Portage, Mi). I have been pitching for many of those years, with suport of a private pitching coach.
In my freshman year of pitching for my high school I broke the 20 year old record of the most strike-outs in one year. In my sophmore year, I broke the 20 year record for career high school strike-outs. I have been named to all-conference, as well as all-area, both years.
I am very dedicated to my pitching and willing to work hard at always trying to improve.
I am interested in a college in the states of Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, or Ohio as my first choice, however, I am open to all options available to me. I hope to pursue a degree in the medical field, once again, open to various avenues in this field.
My goals are to receive a degree in the medical field, but also to pitch at the college level for four years. I will bring much enthusiasm and support for my team, as well as my pitching and hitting skills. I ranked third in the state of Indiana for pitchers my freshman year of high school. I was also noted as the "upcoming star" in northern Indiana in the field of softball my freshman year.
