First and foremost I am a student first and have never brought anything but straight A's home from kindergarten through 8th grade. I made the junior honor society last year, as well as achieving #1 status in 7th and 8th grade honors math. I also had a pass + in language arts, math and science on the 2014 I-Step testing. This year I was one of 5 incoming freshmen that was inducted in to the Student Athletic Advisory Committee which represents respect, honesty, sportsmanship, leadership and thinking positive through athletics in life by setting a good example for other to follow.
Softball is my passion I truly love this game, I like to believe I am a true student of the game. I have been playing since 8U req. and got on a 10U travel ball team. After 10U I tried out for 12U and made it but it was too far away at the time so I tried out for Mafia 14U and made that team also. I was 11 years old and was playing on a 14U second year team as starting catcher with a batting average of 424 and on base percentage of 536. My coach moved up to 16U the next season and asked me to go to 16U with them. I didn’t.
I played my first season of Middle School Softball and was the team captain, leadoff batter and starting catcher with a 536 batting average. In my second year of middle school ball I was 3rd batter in the lineup batting a 586 and starting catcher. My 8th grade year I was team captain, leadoff batter with a 568 batting average and starting catcher.
I also take batting lessons and catching lessons weekly. My Lessons coach has asked me to start giving catching lessons to other girls that come to him for catching lessons. So I am currently actively giving catching leassons. I have learned to call games and I know when and why to call certain pitches depending on the pitcher, batter or runners. I have called 7 1/2 games last season and all the games my 7th grade season as well as all the game my 8th grade season.
My best pop time is 1.91 seconds.
My dad is an avid camera buff and has a Facebook page for my team/teams it is called Fastpitch. Check it out to see action shots of my teams. By the way Softball Magazine did a small article on me in their first 2014 issue and I also got a 4 page spread in their 3rd 2014 issue their W C W S Addition.
