Personal Statement

My collegiate goals are to graduate with an education degree for elementary education or world history while contributing to a winning collegiate softball program. I would be a good candidate for your team because I'm hard working on the field and in the classroom. I have a passion for softball, and I strive for success in all I do. When I am at practice, I always give my all because I know that you play as you practice and on the practice field is where an athlete improves their game. What sets me apart from other recruits is my passion for the game, my desire to succeed in sports and life, and my commitment to fulfill my role to allow my team and my teammates to be the best that we can be.

Ashton Painter - 2020 Graduate: I have had the pleasure of working with Ashton for 5 years. She is a very hard worker and will do anything I ask of her. I am very proud of the progress she has made with her pitching over the years and I am very excited to see her develop even more through her high school years and into college. She is a great team player and takes her job very seriously as a pitcher. She shows great leadership and is very encouraging of her teammates. Ashton plays volleyball and basketball as well as softball, but is always finding time to work on her pitching skills. She is very coachable and strives to do the best she can at every practice. Ashton also has a very supportive family. Her parents are very encouraging and challenge her to become the best she can be. She is a great student and is a member of student council, helping plan school events and programs for her classmates. Ashton also finds time to be involved in some church activities. She is a very well-rounded student-athlete and would be a great asset to any team. Ashton Painter joined the high school softball team as a Freshman this year and split time between the Varsity and JV teams. I did not know Ashton prior to try outs, but it did not take long to get to know her. Off the field, she has a fun personality, and we talked quite a bit. On the field, she is very focused and one of the most determined players I have coached. My first question on game days was "Is Ashton playing with us?" When she was playing with us, she was our starting pitcher. Ashton locates pitches well, issues very few walks, and gets a lot of ground balls from hitters. The highlight of Ashton's season was our game against Mount Vernon, a very tough team in our conference. They came into our game 10-0 with several impressive wins. Ashton led our outstanding defensive effort holding them to just 2 runs in a 16-2 five-inning game. I would be happy to have her on my team any time! Dave Hahn Delta Eagles JV Coach
