Personal Statement

I've been playing softball since little league in 1st grade. I've had varsity experience in high school for 3 years now. My 8th grade varsity season I wasn't physically eligible the entire season, due to labrum surgery, but I was a varsity pinch runner and designated hitter for the four games before the surgery. The second year I played varsity 2nd base and junior varsity catcher. My third year I was changed to the varsity shortstop position. I play outfield and 2nd base for my club team, Lights Out Fastpitch. I am a flexible player and a fast learner, so I can be moved around the field to fill the team's needs. I've always enjoyed softball because it's a team sport and everyone has to work together to get a positive outcome.

Met several coaches and was exposed to collegiate level drills. The coaches answered several questions about recruiting and explained how the process works. They also helped me in better myself as an athlete by showing quicker ways to do certain tasks on the field. I had only participated in the defensive and agility portion of the camp.
