Personal Statement
Softball has been an important part of my life since the first time I was able to hold a bat. I have worked to overcome many obstacles in order to play this game, but my passion for playing never lessens. My role as a pitcher earned me a varsity letter my 8th grade year, and I have earned one every year since. I am quite versatile, as I have also played many innings of outfield and other infield positions. I continue to put an endless amount of effort into practice in order to be the best version of myself, but also as a player. Whether I’m taking ground balls alone or hitting off the tee with dad, I always find a way to improve what needs to be fixed. This drive and motivation is occurs not only on the field, but also off the field. Several hours of dedication have taught me how to outwork the competition, pick others up, and how to be a leader. This is also seen off the field, in places such as the classroom. I have worked hard in order to earn a 4.2 cumulative GPA and I am constantly studying in order to improve my grades. I also push myself in the classroom by taking honors and College classes. My leadership skills, dedication, and the time I put into what I love sets me apart from other athletes. Being a leader and showing an endless love for what you do is most important to me. I have found that these are quite important throughout life. I would love to be able to carry my passion for softball on throughout college by continuing to play the game I love.
