Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Katelyn Dennis. I play softball for Illini West High school and the Quad City Firebirds '04. I also love to lift weights and run. I am a varsity track and Cross Country runner. Outside of sports I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and being outdoors.
I am known as the positive and inspirational one on the team, I take pride in that. I am always the go to when the team or another teammate is struggling. I always have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances and find a way to pick everyone else up in tough situations too. I am also very coachable, always willing to learn, and catch on to new things fast. I like to think of myself as a multi tool player because I can be dominant in the circle, at the plate, and quick on the bases.
I am currently wanting to go to college to become a physical therapist. I gained a full appreciation for the field after working with my therapist on my past injuries. I want to be able to help others bounce back with their injuries too.
Softball is a part of my everyday life and has helped mold me into the person I am today. I have met some amazing people in my softball career that will always be family. I am excited to know that there are more experiences to be had and people to meet. I'm looking for the right fit in a college that will push me to be a successful student-athlete.
