Personal Statement
I was born and raised in Iowa and have played softball since I was 8. I've been in love with the game ever since I stepped foot on a field. Everything about it. I have been travelling with my club team since I was 12. I've learned a lot about myself and a lot about this game in the 10 years I've played. I've learned that it takes an entire team with everyone playing their role to succeed. I've learned that there are going to be good days and bad days but the bad days help you appreciate the good ones. I've learned it takes hard work, patience and determination. And I've learned I can't live without it.
I'm fast, versatile, and fun. I work hard and bring a lot of energy to the team. Although I mainly play shortstop and third base, you can put me anywhere on the field and I'll deliver. I can bunt and run or hit HR's. I have great base-running instinct and above all I'm a great teammate with good character.
Some unique characteristics and skills that I have include:
Speed. I'm quick to the ball and quick on the bases.
Leadership. I try to keep everybody up when things are going bad. I stay positive. Even when I don't want to, I put a smile on my face for the team.
Fun. I know how to have it. Even though there's times that we have to be serious and work hard, I still try to make every moment fun.
Sponge. I soak up everything I'm taught. I learn quickly and normally only have to be taught once.
Versatility. I can play anywhere on the field. From SS to CF to Catcher.
After playing softball for several years, I've learned that I'm in love with it and want to play more of it and be involved with it for as long as I possibly can.
