Ashlyn Zook '17 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Ashlyn Zook and I have been playing softball since I was four years old and pitching ever since I turned six. I love the game because it is what my summers have always been dedicated to. I have had dreams since I was a little kid to pitch for a college team, in one particular state, and go further in ball than I would ever imagine. I have worked outside by myself countless times, by tying a tire to a tree branch and putting a net behind that and pitching or taking an old volleyball net, wrapping it around a pole and tree and hitting off a tee.  I have always found something someway to practice even when I don't have practice. I have played so many games both wins and losses,  and I don't want to stop now.  I want to push myself even harder to improve and keep improving. 

    One thing that I have always brought to teams that I have played on is leadership.  I have always been the girl everyone could count on bringing them up after a mistake and being able to help them do better. I will play anywhere or go and help a friend with a position that they want or want to improve on.  I am optimistic and bring plenty of determination with me. Not only that but I truly know what the meaning of team is and what can happen when a team plays as a team. 

    The program I am looking for a one that will push me to new levels of game and not to give up on me. One that will always play to win and have fun while doing exactly that. A coach that will pull me from the mound when I need it and also see that I can do more than just throw pitches but can play 3rd base and hit. In my opinion I play 3rd better than I pitch, I just like to pitch more because I like the feeling I get in the mound. That is what kind of program I am looking for, a team that will help me keep the love of the game and the feeling I have every time I step into the mound.
