I first became interested in playing college softball ever since I played 10U ball. I started playing my 3rd grade year. Currently, I am a sophomore and I have started varsity since my 8th grade year. I work with a hitting coach once a week in the fall. He is always tweaking my stance and giving me new drills to help improve my swing. College softball is something I have dreamed of playing ever since I was young and I will put in all the time and dedication needed to get me where I want to be.
I weight lift 2/3 times a week every week of the year. Outside of softball, I keep myself busy with cross-country in the fall, basketball in the winter, and I run track during the spring. Also, I show cattle at our local county fair July.
I am a true Iowa farm girl who has been doing some sort of chores since I was 4. I have to feed our cows every day, in freezing temps, pouring rain and blistering heat. This means I am not a stranger to hard work--whether it is in school, on the field or court, or at home.
At school, I am involved in JOI Club (Junior Optimistic International). Monthly, we volunteer in the community and school district. Also, I am involved with FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and BPA (Business Professionals of America). I have been a 4.0 student since the sixth grade and that is something I plan to strive to achieve each year in high school.
