Personal Statement
Hi Coaches, my name is Grace Coughlin and I am currently a Junior at Olpe High School. My love for volleyball is rooted in the age of five when I attended the University of Loyola Chicago's volleyball camp. The camp introduced me to one of my favorite sports. I continued my love for this sport in club ball for 5 years and as a varsity starter for 2. I am not a stranger to hard work and fully commit myself to whatever I am doing. Volleyball has taught me how to lead through action and understand how to lead based on personality. Another unique thing about me is I am a multi-sport athlete, which has taught me time management and being able to succeed through tough situations. I don’t shy away from a challenge and am willing to step above as well as beyond expectations. As an active member in my community and the surrounding areas, I am always willing to lend a hand and jump in head first. I am extremely disciplined, goal-oriented, passionate, and coachable. On top of that, I am a quick learner who has learned to adapt and does well with change. My path in life has always been clear: go to college, followed by medical school and residency, then enlist in the Navy or Air Force, retire in the military, and end up working in a hospital.
