Personal Statement
Winning runner-up at the Kansas 4A DII Softball as a freshman was the highlight of my high school career; however, I feel I grew as an athlete during my sophomore year when our team did not qualify for the state tournament. My growth as a athlete during my sophomore year provided me with determination and dedication to become an even better athlete and teammate so I am better prepared to play at the college level.
Athletics have given me a way to display leadership, teamwork, and commitment to my team and an arena for my future personal aspirations. I take pride in being a court leader during basketball and trying to maintain team morale in rewarding situations and raise it in challenging circumstances. Taking on leadership roles is important to me. I feel I have the drive and the competitive spirit of a leader and someone who can provide a positive outlook in both athletics and life in general. I am looking for a program that not only helps me advance my athletic, but also my academic, future. I believe that I have the desire, skills, attitude, and leadership to contribute to a team at the college level.
