Sarah Detrick '10 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Sarah Detrick. I'm 5'3" 115 lb. and can run from home to 1st in 3.18 on a bad day. I've been a leader on my schools varsity softball team since I was in 7th grade. Since I go to a private school they're allowed to make acceptions like that :). I've been captain of the team my junior and senior seasons. I've also been able to be a part of the Coffeyville City Recreation league for 5 years, and I am so thankful for the extraordinary coaching I've received from it. Our team went to state 05,06,07, & 08, and actually won in 06, and got runners-up in 07 & 08. I received the MVP award in 06,07, & 08. I am very competitive, and have a drive to win that can knock your socks off. I'm always the player that stays after practice to improve on ground balls, pop time, or hitting the base just right that it can give you that boost to get that extra base. I strive to do my best and to encourage my teammates along the way. In order to succeed you must have a team as determined as you are. I am dead set on playing softball in college. I don't really have a huge preference on where I play, I just want to be on the field doing what I do best, and have a great time doing what I love. My family is very important so if I could be someplace around Alabama or Kansas that would be ideal, but as I said, I just want to play. I plan to major in Physical Therapy, but I want to end up mainly in the sports medicine field so I can be in the athletic enviroment I love even after I'm done playing. My education is the most important part in my decision for a college, so that is really the only thing that I'm looking for in a school. I'm open for anything.
