Personal Statement

My name is Kennady Warder and I dream of playing collegiate softball.  I started playing softball when I was eight and opted to learn to catch because nobody else on the team was willing to do it.  My father was my coach at the time and told me he was proud because it showed my character.  He advised me that teams always want players that put the team ahead of themselves.  That lesson sticks with me toda

I am currently 17 years old and play club ball for Louisville Lady Sluggers - Huecker.  I will catch and be used as a utility player.  My previous Coach Pat calls me "Beast" because he said it describes how I play.  "You take the game head on and never back down, regardless of the score or the opponent."  I consider myself the triple threat: I am a student of the game thanks to my fathers history in baseball, I am quick and light on my feet (If you aren't watching, I will steal my way around the base path!), and I hit with power while maintaining a lifetime batting average of nearly .500.

I just finished my third year of High School with a 3.91 out of 4.0 GPA.  I put my all into everything I do, and my college education and softball career will be no different.  Although I am young, I enjoy art as well as science and think I may have a future in Architecture or Orthopedics.   Fortunately, I have some time before I have to make those decisions, however I want to attend a college that is known for its academics as much as it is its athletics.  I want to participate at the highest level my talent will allow (noting that my dream is to play Division 1 softball).

I firmly believe my work habits, my academic capabilities, my humor and my faith will enable me to be a good fit into many softball programs.  Please contact me if you would like to learn more and I will see you on the ball fields!
