Personal Statement
My name is Tabby Shewmaker and I play softball and basketball at the varsity level for Mercer County High School. I will graduate in the Class of 2012. From an academic standpoint, I am on the A/B Honor Roll, MCSH Teen Advisory Panel, MCSH FCA and was chosen for Youth Salute.
For softball, I have been the starting varsity pitcher since my 7th grade. I wear uniform #5. I am 5'8" tall and weigh a strong 160 lbs.
I have 6 KHSAA state records.

I was Kentucky All-State Honorable Mention in 2010. I was All-District Tournament Team in 2008 and 2009, Danville Advocate All-Area Team Honorable Mention 2008 and 2010 and Danville Advocate All-Area Team for Pitcher in 2009. I was MCSH Pitcher of the Year in 2007, MCSH Best Offensive Player in 2010, MCSH MVP in 2008 and 2009. I pitched 2 perfect games in 2009. My best pitch is the change up and my fastball is 61mph. My bat speed is 73mph. I had 9 homeruns (2 grand slams) in my 2010 high school season/sophomore year. Although I am a good pitcher, I am also a strong utility player.
I want to become a Physical Therapist. In college, I hope to major in Physical Therapy or Biology. I want to play softball at the collegiate level. I won't be happy on the bench so I want to play for a school who can benefit and appreciate my abilities to support their team schedules/goals.
