Laynie Childress '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Laynie Childress and I am in the class of '19 at Hart County High School. I am a highly competitive athlete and enjoy playing varsity level competition in three sports, softball, cheer, and soccer.  Although I play three sports my true love is softball. I have played varsity level and started for our high school team since the seventh grade. I am the lead off batter and play left field. I am a lefty lefty and have a strong desire to win every time we walk on the field, but also believe that you win as a team and lose as a team. My team is my family, all for one, one for all. I play on a travel ball team, the LIVEWIREZ made up of girls from 5 of our surrounding counties. I have learned so much from these ladies and my coaches about strategies and changing the way you see the game in the last two years. I was voted all district tournament team 2015 and 2016 and all tournament season team for the 18th district 2016 and 2017. I was nominated to all region team for the 5th region in 2016 and 2017 and making the All Region Tournament Team 2017. I had the opportunity to play in the 5th region vs 8th region all star game this year as well and was surrounded by more talent than I could have ever imagined. Softball isn't just a sport it is a way of life. I have been blessed with a family who has backed my ambitions and parents and brothers who have willingly sacrificed vacations and weekends to support my dreams, now I can only hope to continue those when I graduate high school on to the next level.
