Personal Statement
I have loved and played softball since I was 6 years old. Softball has taught me invaluable life lessons, such as sacrifice, team work and handling adversity. I am very thankful to my family for sacrificing so much to allow me to play this game I love. For 3 years, my mom and dad would drive me 3 hours just to attend team practices so I could have the opportunity to play for a travel team. Being a part of a team has taught me that training hard and being the best version of me allows me to contribute and be an asset in something bigger than me....my team. Softball is often a game of failure. Handling failures and tough losses has taught me that if I want something to change, it starts with me!
I am looking for a college program that will challenge me to continue my development as a person and player. One of my best character traits is my work ethic. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a starting position on a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. Academically, I will be an asset to any college team. I have always been taught that grades come first, and am very proud of my 4.0 GPA. As a two-sport athlete and four-time team captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
