Personal Statement
It has not been times that I have played on winning teams that have mostly shaped my skills, goals and passion for softball. It has been playing on teams with opportunities for growth that have impacted me the most.
My first experience with competitive softball came at 10 years old moving up to 12U select softball on an 11U team. This experience of a season of winning very few games taught me teamwork, perseverance and determination. I learned to work diligently and patiently until the wins came. I also learned to lead, rely on and trust my teammates towards a certain goal. The start of my high school softball career as an 8th grade varsity pitcher has been similar, playing on a very young team and has continued into my Freshman year, leading from the mound.
Being assigned to work with 7-10 year old girls, with my pitching coach has kindled my interest in helping other athletes with not only physical but mental needs.
My goal is to bring all of these characteristics to my high school academics, my high school softball program and my future college softball program.
