Personal Statement
My goal is to attend a school that will continue to challenge me both academically and athletically. I believe that the team comes first. My philosophy is that if I control the controlables and have a process based mentality, rather than a results based mentality it will benefit the team as a whole. It is important to me that I am a leader and role model on the field as well as in the classroom and in my community.
When I'm not playing/practicing softball or studying I am usually working at our family owned veterinary clinic. I believe that having a job sets me apart from other kids. The combination of work, school, and softball has taught me a great deal about committment and work ethic. In order for me to be the absolute best that I can be at my job I must fully committ to showing up on time, working quickly and efficiently, and keeping calm regardless of the situation. I practice suturing, handling needles and syringes, and patient restraint, as well.
Another thing that makes me different is my coachability. I believe that the coach always has the team's best interest in mind and it is best to respect his/her authority. My attitude is always very upbeat. You are either bringing energy or you are draining energy. That choice is up to you.
My preffered field of study is veterinary medicine.
