My name is Emily Antrim. I am 15 years old. My primary position is as a pitcher and my second position is 1st base. I see pitching and hitting coaches on a regular basis year round. I currently throw 5 pitches; the fastball, push-change, drop-curve, screwball, and rise ball. My rise ball and screwball were most recently clocked at 65 mph. My fastball is currently approximately 58-60 mph and my change-up is 34-40 mph. My current spin rate is 19.0. My batting average for the 2018 regular season with the Lady Mavericks was .465, with 26 RBI’s. My high school varsity batting average was .500 and I had 69 strikeouts as a pitcher.
I have played competitive travel softball with the Lady Mavericks organization from Scarborough, Maine, throughout New England, New York, and Canada. I also have played in a fall softball league for the last three years and will be playing with the Lady Mavericks for their fall u14 Gold team. I am rostered for the Lady Mavericks u16 team for the 2019 season. Most recently I made varsity as a freshman for MassabesicHigh School. I spend my off-season training in the gym, in the cages, and with two pitching coaches. The 2019 travel season will be my third with the Lady Mavericks.
As an athlete, I feel I bring a strong work ethic to my team. My dedication to training in the off-season sets a good example for my teammates. I consider myself a leader through my actions by the respect that I show to the coaches, players, officials, and to the game of softball. I take the game of softball very seriously. While winning is always my goal, I also understand that there are growth opportunities that come with a loss. I strive to continually improve my game as an individual and as a teammate.
I am part of the 2022 graduating class at Massabesic High School in Waterboro, Maine. I am hard working in the classroom and on the field. Currently, my GPA places me as Sigma Cum Lade and I was recognized for my high achievement in history. I am enrolled in college pathway classes and plan on majoring in Business Administration and then getting my MBA. I am currently in preparatory studies for my SATs.
My ideal college would be located in the Southeast, but I’m open to all geographical areas of the United States. I would prefer my school to be in a rural or suburban setting. I do not have a preference on the size of a school at this time. I would like to attend a college or university that has a strong business administration program and will provide me the opportunity to play at the most competitive level of softball possible. I plan to apply for financial assistance, but I also have a college saving plan to supplement my financial needs.
My athletic goals include playing softball at the most competitive level possible, to grow as an individual by learning from high-quality coaches and players, and to bring a high level of dedication and a strong work ethic to a softball program. I want to continue to grow as a pitcher and player. My ultimate goals are to be part of a winning team at the Women’s College World Series and to play for Team USA.
