Growing up, I was always watching my two older sisters play softball, which is part of the reason that this sport is so important to me. Even before I started playing, my summer weekends were spent watching my sisters compete in their tournaments, so softball has been very meaningful to my entire family as well. Throughout my years of playing softball, whether for my high school or club team, I have learned that this sport not only takes perseverance but also a willingness to learn and grow, even if it means that there will be hardships along the way. Softball has always been a constant motivator for me; even if I reach one goal in the game, there is always another step that I can take to improve. I also know that softball is not only a physical game, but a mental game as well, and I love working on the mentality of softball just as much as the athletic side of the sport.
The strong mentality that softball requires also carries over to my academic career. My goal is to go to medical school after college, so it is important to me to find a program that is a great fit both athletically and academically. I know that I have the right determination and drive to compete as a college softball player and that I will be a great asset to a team both on and off the field!
