Hi,
My name is Alyssa Smith. I am an outfielder from Silver Spring, MD. I am currently in the class of 2020 and I play for Stars National 18u Select (previously the Vienna Stars) .
When thinking about why I want to play at the collegiate level, I would say it's because I love the game of softball. I love that feeling of stepping on the field for pregame, and seeing the newly painted foul lines. I love being along side my 14 sisters playing a game that has affected our lives in the best way possible. I love leaving a game and not having a voice because I cheered so much. I love that the entire softball community is a family, a family I plan on being a part of for a long time.
If a coach were to ask me what separates me from other players, I would say that I am very versatile. I am a slapper, but can also hit away. I can play all outfield positions, although Right is my favorite. If asked to play infield I would play infield without hesitation. I am up for trying new things, and I am quick to adjust when given advice. I am also fast around the bases; I have a home to first time of 2.5 seconds, and a home to home time of 10.9 seconds
I hope to find a school that feels like home and will be apart of my growth as a person and softball player.

- Grand Canyon University Softball will be hosting a 2 day All Skills Camp December 16th and 17th. This camp is open to any and all entrants between the ages of 11-18. The camp will include instruction in the areas of pitching, hitting, defense, baserunning, bunting and more. Participants will have the opportunity to work with the GCU Softball Coaches; Head Coach Ann Pierson and Asst. Coaches Christi Musser and Kelsie Monroe. Also helping with instruction will be current members of the GCU Softball team, area high school coaches and other area colleges.

Camryn Munroe, Jules Donnelly, Alyssa Smith, Davis, Angel Brown, and Vallejos each collected one hit to lead VXF17 in loss to Red Devils (2-4). Camryn Munroe, Izzy Vallejos, Lexy Sorensen, Alyssa Smith, Waugh, Ally Hilkert, and Sydney Donaldson all had one hit to lead VXF17 in 6-4 win over Long Island Crush. VXF17 racked up eight hits in the game. VXF17 tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Alyssa Smith led the way with four. VXF17 was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Smith had the most chances in the field with three in 8-0 shutout over Firecrackers NJ 16U-Sogluzzio.
