Andrea Rutzebeck '23 Recruiting Profile

On the field, I always put my heart, soul and energies into every game and practice session.  I am a multi-position talented softball player, but I excel in playing center field. My greatest assets are my speed, range, ball tracking ability, catch radius and constant hustle. I am routinely called upon to bunt and steal bases which I have a very high success rate in both. My coaches and team mates have nicknames for me such as “Speedy” and “Velcor” (as they say I catch everything). My goal is to excel both academically as well as athletically.  

To improve athletically I participate in softball camps, receive personal skills training, do weight training and workouts, and play other sports (basketball/snowboarding/volleyball) in order to stay in shape for my true love softball.  

Club Coach Statement:  Andrea has shown significant growth in her skills over the past couple of years. She is a hard worker during practices and games, and shows initiative and passion with the work she puts in at home. Andrea has earned her starting spot in centerfield, making amazing catches with a wide range thanks to her speed. Her speed also makes her a threat on the bases. Andrea has a great attitude and is willing to dive, slide and get dirty to make the play.
