Marissa Lawton So...Personal Statement
Starting at age 11, I was somewhat late into playing softball, I was nervous to learn a new sport and play with and against players who have been playing longer than I have. With hard work and practice, I became a very good player in the course of a few years. I’ve now been playing for 5 seasons and love playing the sport, I love that get to show my competitive side, meet new friends and show my athletic ability while also having fun at the same time.
I live in Maynard, MA, and play for my school’s softball program at Maynard High. I also play for a recreation team in Marlborough, MA. Even in the off-season, I’m working hard to continue improving on my skills. My goal is to keep playing as long as I possibly can and keep improving my skills during the process.
Both athletically and academically I work hard and am always willing to learn new things. Since starting high school I have maintained good grades getting high honors. My goal is to keep maintaining those grades so I can get into a good school.
