Personal Statement
I have played club softball for the Hornets out of Brand New Ballgame in Wrentham, MA for 6 seasons.
I attend Medfield High school, which is consistently listed in the top 10 public schools in Massachusetts. I take Honors classes in Science, Math, and History. I work very hard in school and hold a 3.44 unweighted GPA. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in June of 2018 and have worked through the struggles of being undiagnosed for my first two years of high school. The same grit and determination I display on the softball field, I have also used throughout my entire academic career to earn good grades despite having dyslexia.
I have been taking Mandarin class since the fourth grade. I went on an amazing school trip to China in April, 2018 to enrich my knowledge of Chinese culture.
I also went on my second mission trip with my church, in June 2018, to help with hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. My first mission trip in June 2017, to Toronto Canada, was an amazing experience. Community service has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, with my community service group called Girls Who Care. As I have gotten older my passion for community service has grown. I have done many days of service with my senior high fellowship group at church and have continued serving my community with my community service group.
Throughout my high school career I have become very invested in drug and alcohol prevention amongst teens in my community. I sit on committees within my community and greater region to discuss and implement substance prevention for high schoolers.
In college I am looking to study psychology with the possible path of occupational therapy.
