Personal Statement
I instantly fell in love with the game of softball at age 6. The field is my getaway place and has been for as long as I can remember. My goal is not only to play college softball but to grow as a person and further my education into a career that I love. As the captain of the Methuen High Softball team I help lead with hard work, determination, helping others, being reliable to my teammates, and looking for ways to improve myself on the field. While it was disappointing to not have my high school sophomore season due to covid, I was fortunate to return the next fall season and have strong offensive stats. I'm also on the varsity volleyball team and feel this makes me a versatile athlete.
I take school very seriously with a cumulative GPA of 4.46. I have been on highest honors all throughout my high school years. Following my pursuit in the nursing field, I have taken rigorous college-level AP courses in both biology and chemistry. I have always been inspired to follow in my dad's footsteps. Being a nurse, I've grown up watching him care for others. It's truly inspiring how much of a difference he makes in their lives. That is how I aspire to be.
I love my community and always want to give back to others. I have volunteered at Methuen Village, an assisted living facility since I was 13. I love to brighten the days of all of the residents, helping them play fun games and finding activities to do. Volunteering with them helped grow my love for caring for others and for nursing. The residents are very close to me and they have all helped me in my journey through both softball and my life. I look forward to finding a college that will fit my athletic and academic goals as well as provide a great family-like atmosphere.
