Personal Statement

I have always loved sports. I think being apart of a team is what I like best about them. Being on a team that we all have the same goals in mind and we are all working as hard as the other to accomplish those goals is very important to me. I have always played Softball, Volleyball and Basketball and done well at them. Softball is what I love. My size and strength has always given me an advantage. I am a power hitter with speed. I also work hard on and off the field. What I mean is on the field I try to immediately learn from my mistakes and not let them bother me. Off the field I practice what I did learn so I can do it better. I am never satisfied with where I am, I know I can always do better and I also know I have to instill that into my teammates too. If I can help make them better and push them they feel more comfortable to help and push me. Softball is a team sport and each player has a part and a skill to make the team a success. Some players have more skills and smaller and bigger parts. The best skill I bring is a great attitude, ability to listen and learn, leadership, hitting with power, a strong arm and speed. I look forward to playing college softball and opportunity to continue growing as a person.

We started to keep track of stats towards the end of the season. I started every game, played first base every game and played all but about 7 innings in the whole fall season. I was 14 for 27 after we started to keep stats. Out of the 14 hits, 4 of the hits were over the fence home runs.

We made it! The final eight in the STATE! It was a great experience. Ida was a very good team we played hard we just could not pull it off. I batted 4th and played Center field. I went 0-2. I had a great hard line drive to right that was caught.

It was an amazing game. We beat a great team with very good pitching. Parma was 36-6 this year. I batted 1 for 4 (base hit / RBI). My team played great. I played Center field. We won and are now on the the Quarterfinals! I know we can do it! This is the farthest we have ever been in the 47 year history of the program at Flint Powers Catholic. I am so proud of my team!

Today I played Centerfield, Pitcher and Catcher in our doubleheader. Batting I was 1 for 8 with a base hit. This was one of those games I feel I had a good day at bat. Center field fence was 220, I hit two to the center field fence and one to the left field fence. It just seemed like every time I hit the ball they made a play on me.
