Personal Statement
My name is Dillen Eagle. I am a 5’6 shortstop from Plainwell, MI. I am a hard worker with a desire to learn new things and grow as a person and athlete. Over my athletic career, my coaches consistently tell me that I am very coachable and have a strong desire to improve. I have worked hard over the past few years to become a strong leader. During my Freshman year, I was captain of my volleyball and basketball teams, and going into my Sophomore year I was just voted captain again of my volleyball team. As a Freshman, I was the starting shortstop for my high school’s Varsity Softball team. This experience pushed me to reach higher and continuously improve my game. Being a 14 year old starting on varsity allowed me to watch and learn from upperclassmen on my team. I am going into my fourth year of playing travel softball. Playing travel softball has greatly increased my love for the game. It allows me to play with players from many different areas, both on my team and on teams I play against. I enjoy playing against a high level of competition during this season.
Academically, I have a 4.0 Grade Point Average . I thrive in Math and Science, and am determined to become fluent in Spanish as a second language. During my Freshman year, I scored the highest possible national marks on my BioMedical Science Exam. My PSAT Scores in 8th Grade were 1150. I am looking to attend a college that will challenge me academically and help me meet my goals of one day becoming a surgeon. I need to find a school where I can continue playing the game that I love, while pursuing an undergrad that will put me on the path toward accomplishing my career goals. I am less concerned with the school’s division and size than I am with a strong academic and athletic program.
