Personal Statement
Hello, My name is Lydia Hinga. I am in the class of 2024 at Portage Northern High School. I am primarily a catcher, but do play some infield. I am capable of playing anywhere a college coach needs me. I work to be not just a softball player but an all around athlete. I do speed and agility training along with strength training to expand my potential. Playing at the next level has been a dream of mine since I started playing at the age of 4. From then on I drove myself to be the best player I can personally be. At age 13 I took a big step and moved away from my age group to prepare playing with older people for high school. I currently am playing 18U travel softball at age 16. I plan on taking a pre med track and eventually going into medical school. I know that is not ideal for playing college softball, but I am willing to work as hard as possible to achieve my goals. I strive not only to excel on the softball field, but in the classroom as well. I have always taken all honors class and had great success. I am also working towards an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Softball is not an easy game but I will do everything I can to make the most success I can.
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
