Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Shaylee Harrison. I’m a 2017 graduate at Salem High School in Missouri. I have one younger brother that means the world to me and inspires me everyday and a loving family who stands by me and helps me achieve my goals. I like to be involved in as many activities as I can. I am a three year member of FFA and a nine year member of 4-H, in my 4-H group I have been the treasurer for the last four years. When I’m not playing softball or running track for my high school I am playing softball with my select team Mid Mo Evolution. I have also been involved in Honors Club and yearbook over the past few years. I am a hard worker, a good listener, also a fast learner, when I’m told something I pick up on it fast and fix my mistakes, I work well with others and always like to try new things.
I first became interested in playing softball while growing up watching my mom play and ever since then I have loved the sport. I first started playing softball when I was five years old and have continued to play. My primary position is catcher and secondary is outfield all though I have played every position on the field at one point. While playing at the next level I plan on earning my degree in nursing and becoming a pediatric nurse. I know it will be challenging to balance softball and nursing at the same time but I’m willing to accept the challenge. I enjoy helping people and I love children so I think this would be a good major for me. I look forward to going through the recruiting process and meeting new coaches and seeing the different schools that I could be a part of.
