Erica Whitaker '10 Recruiting Profile

My dream has been to play college softball ever since I was eight years old. My older brother played college baseball and my older sister played college basketball. I told them both I would play college softball but they always said I was too little. Since that time I have developed the nickname of "Big E", but that is not because of my size. My coaches gave that nickname because I was small but hit as the leadoff batter or in the power hitter position. The colleges I have mainly researched meet my educational goals of being a doctor or working in the medical field in some way. We moved from Alabama before my junior year so I am familiar with many of the colleges in the south, but am learning about schools in the mid-west. My parents expect me to help pay my college expenses in some matter either by academics or sports, hopefully both, so tuition costs are highly considered. The attributes that I feel I could offer your team are a self motivated competitiveness, christian attitude, speed, healthy lifestyle, good work ethic, a supportive family, and a love for the game of softball. I hope to run out of a dugout in the year 2010 as a college softball player.
