Personal Statement
My name is Lauren Gates and am in the 2020 graduating class of Westminster Christian Academy. I have dedicated over 11 years to the sport I love, softball! I am a Catcher and an Outfielder with a strong work ethic and a constant drive to improve my skills and learn from my coaches and teammates. I have played on the Varsity team at WCA since my freshman year and have been named MVP and will be Captain of my team this year.
My goal is to pursue a Business/Marketing/Entrepreneurship degree with a minor in Spanish at a University where I can thrive academically and athletically. I am dedicated and loyal and I have always loved being part of a competitive team where winning is important, but learning and constantly improving is equally important.
I currently have a 3.08 GPA and a 23 ACT score. I am currently working hard to improve my ACT score, and I am determined to do so!
A unique quality I possess is being a Catcher that is also a left-handed slapper. My somewhat smaller size (for a catcher) helps with my agility behind the plate, I am 5'2" and 125 lbs and I can frame the heck out of a ball!
