My name is Karah Dunham, I’m a 5’4” and 170-pound wall that is extremely competitive on and off the field. I have been on the diamond since I was able to hold a bat. Even as a little girl, I have dreamed of playing at the collegiate level. I started working on my pitching when I was 12, and after the first few lessons something clicked and I fell in love with pitching. That was all I wanted to do. I am not a fastball dominate pitcher, I rely on my junk pitches and the ability to study batters.
On and off the field my work ethic is my biggest asset. I push myself and I hate to be told that I don’t have the skills to perform. Over the last two years I have focused on becoming a better ball player on the mound and at the plate. I hit in the 4th spot on my high school varsity team and my competitive team. When not on the mound, I am normally at 3rd base. During the high school season I was moved between 3rd and SS due to my knowledge of the game. This has allowed me to become a leader on and off the field.
At the collegiate level I am looking for a school that will allow me to achieve more in the field of Agricultural/Electrical Engineering with a coaching staff that will allow me to improve and grow in my softball skills. With my competitive edge and leadership skills, I would be an added investment to your program. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and good luck in the upcoming season.
