Personal Statement

Transfer with AA degree from Southeastern Community College - Iowa with 3.4 GPA.    I am a dedicated college student, growing both academically and athletically each and every year.  I am a healthy athlete absent of injuries and motivated to further my college career.  I am working hard to promote myself on this NCSA website, to reach out to college coaches who are in need of a mature solid pitcher for next year.  I am looking for the best athletic scholarship at a college or university that offers a major in psychology, counseling and/or gerontology.  My goal is to earn a Masters in Mental Health Counseling to give back to those left fortunate.

I’ve been a left handed pitcher since I started playing softball over 12 years ago.  I throw 6 different pitches, with a rise ball being my most dominant pitch.  I’ve always been known as a dependable teammate who operates smoothly during tense moments.  One of my best strengths is my ability to stay focused on the mound and not rattle under pressure like after a homerun or during tight games.  Here is an example, back in 2014 when pitching against one of the best hitters in the State of Nebraska, I struck her out!   She committed to the University of Nebraska while still in 9th grade and is a 2017 recruit.  Here is the video:  https://youtu.be/nb6vfXb1oWY

I currently attend Southeastern Community College-D1, in Burlington Iowa and prior to that I attended and played at Eastern Oklahoma State College-D1.  After my freshman year, Oklahoma cut all out-of-state athletes tuition scholarships; hence, I was back on the market.  Finding another full-ride athletic scholarship was my dream come true.  In addition, I was very excited about being Coached under Flores, who attended University of Northern Iowa.  She was a left handed pitcher on their softball team and able to offer me direction and guidance.  I continue to develop and get stronger.  I will be graduating in May with an Associates of Art Degree and look forward to continuing my college education while playing softball on an athletic scholarship.

Thank you for reviewing my profile, and I look forward to talking to you soon.
