Personal Statement
The highlight of my softball career has been qualifying for Nebraska State Tournament with a group of teammates that I love. I have had the opportunity to play at the Varsity level on my high school team since I was a Freshman and have enjoyed every play. Going into my Freshman year, my primary position was short stop. The coach needed a second baseman, and I stepped into that role. I was able to learn from the older players as a young teammate and now, I am able to be a role model and mentor to the underclassmen. I approach each game believing I can do anything I put my mind and effort to.
As a young player, I was coached by my dad, from ages four to 13. Those are some of the best memories of my life. Once that time was over, I learned to play for coaches with different coaching styles and accept new roles as a team member. I suffered an injury and spent an entire season sitting out and cheering on my teammates. That event had such an impact on me. I never wanted to sit out another play. I have been fortunate enough to be a two sport athlete at the Varsity level, maintain a good GPA and focus on my goal of playing at the highest level I can. I am confident in my ability and hope to have the opportunity to achieve my goal.
