Taylor Kadavy '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taylor Kadavy.  I am a student at York High School in York, Nebraska.  I started playing softball at about 8 years old, and have had a passion for the sport ever since.  I have always been some kind of leader on every team I've been a part of, being the catcher when I was younger, and in the last 5 years, the pitcher.  By my freshman year, I was a full time starter for York.  I played most games in right field, or as a designated hitter.  In almost every game that year, I came in at some point of the game as the relief pitcher.  After that season, I received 2nd team All-Conference and All-State honorable mention, This was very helpful for me to gain experience pitching at a higher level than I was used to and coming in under pressure.  This prepared me to be the starting pitcher my sophomore year.  After a successful season, I was awarded All-Conference first team and All-State honorable mention.  My junior year, I not only had a lot of personal success, but our team was very successful, qualifying for the state tournament for the first time in school history.  Personally, I was one of the state leaders in strikeouts, ERA, batting average. I also have almost every school record for pitching and hitting. After ending this season 28-5, I was awarded All-Conference first team, All-State first team Class B, Super-State 2nd team, and Academic All-State. I have high expectations for myself and my team going into my senior season.  I plan to achieve all of my personal and team goals by putting in the extra time it takes and always working hard.  I intend to continue my passion for softball in college as a pitcher or an outfielder.
