Personal Statement
Two time gold medalist Haile Gebrselassie once said, "You need three things to win: discipline, hard work, and before everything maybe, commitment. No one will make it without those three. Sport teaches you that." There's a lot to learn from that quote. Discipline, hard work, and commitment are essential to any athlete if they wish to improve. I came into the sport of softball pretty late. As of right now, I've only been playing for about three years. With discipline, hard work and commitment, in three years I went from being one of the worst players in my grade, to one of the only two freshmen on the varsity high school team. In that time, my love for the sport has grown exponentially. Making good plays excites me, making mistakes challenges me to persevere and work harder.
My goal is to become a medical doctor in dermatology, and I want to start this journey by enrolling into a Biology program. I want to go to a university that allows me to reach my goals of becoming a medical doctor and play softball at a collegiate level.
