Personal Statement
Ever since I was a young girl I loved playing softball/baseball, I originally played baseball because I felt that my local softball league wasn't competitive enough. Since I was one of the very few girls on the baseball team I had to prove that I was good enough, so I worked 10x harder than all of the boys; I've kept this mentality throughout my whole life, and has ultimately benefited me. I was the only girl who made the All-Star team my last few years playing baseball and then I transitioned to play softball. In my first year playing softball, I was the only 6th grader to make the middle school team. Due to the pandemic, I didn't have a 2020 high school season like many other girls around the country but I had made my varsity team.
My goal as a softball player is to use my full potential and keep learning the game so that I can be the best I can be, I am always listening to my coaches and hearing what advice they have for me so that I can improve my skills. Obviously, the first word of "Student-Athlete" is "Student" so my studies will always come first. My parents have always pushed me to work the hardest in school and I have managed to keep A's and B's throughout my high school career, and have taken 8 Honors courses and plan to take AP's in the future. As far as my future career goes I am not completely sure what I would like to major in, but I would like to pursue a career that allows me to be passionate in my studies.
