I started playing softball when I was 8 years old, when I tried out for my first travel team. I remember being cut from the team, but loving the sport so much and telling my parents, "I want to get better." I continue to grow and learn while I play softball. I was always told I was fast, but when I was 13 years old my coaches talked to me about making some changes to benefit the team. They converted me from an infielder to an outfielder and converted me from a right handed hitter to a slap hitter. These changes haven't always been easy, but I've learned that being patient, persistent and committed have made me a better softball player. I have also become a more valuable and versatile player to my team.
Last year, when I was a freshman I was one of only two freshman that started varsity. I was the starting centerfielder and batted second helping lead my team to the state sectionals. Every time I take the field I try to learn something new and get better. Throughout the past year I have taken advantage of my opportunities and attended a lot of camps to help get better physically and mentally. I'm excited to continue my recruiting process and playing in college one day.
