Personal Statement
"Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself." -Paul Bear Bryant
Those words spoken by a true champion are put into action not only while playing the game I love, but also in my daily life. I became an Alabama football and softball fan before I could even talk. Not long after, at age three, my hand was finally big enough to fit around a softball. That is when it all started. Playing softball has not only taught me teamwork, dedication, and communication skills, but also how to fail like a champion.
Qualifying for Nationals in Destin, FL in 2017 was a great accomplishment for my team and myself. In Florida, when it really mattered, I went 0 for 6 at the plate. I let myself down, but more importantly, I let my team down. In our first tournament, the following fall, I hit an outstanding .750 batting average accompanied by a 1000 fielding percentage. Battling back is how you fail like a true champion. Then returning to Destin in 2018, I showed up for my team and batted .565, including 2 homeruns and 5 doubles, over the 10 games we played and helped my team finish 9th out of 64 teams.
The move our family made from Alabama to New Jersey really hit me hard. I was forced to join a new softball team with all new people. I am now the captain of the team. Our team is ranked and part of one of the most successful organizations in the state of New Jersey.
My education is of utmost importance. My schedule is filled with the highest possible academic classes. Looking farther into the future, I hope to graduate high school with a 6.0 weighted GPA. I aspire to attend a highly selective academic college.
I am a 20-time MVP, a 4-time captain, and an all the time champion.
