Personal Statement
I used to say winning the Conference championship as a freshman was the highlight of my softball career, but that's not true. Although it was a great point, my highlight would be how much I've grown, helped my team, and became a better team player.
I've grown the most as a student-athlete when I dislocated my knee, had tendon replacement surgery, in eighth grade. This allowed me to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually as a person overall. It allowed me to see the game from a whole new perspective. It allowed me to focus on healing and making sure I did not rush into anything that I was not ready for. It helped me grow as a person it allowed me to realize what my true goals/passions were, and allows me to realize just how far I am willing to go to achieve them.
Growing up I was the only girl "man enough" to play travel baseball. I fell in love with the feeling of the atmosphere, the competitiveness, seeing how I compared to other players who play my position and watching the games to improve my knowledge of the game. While playing I started playing softball, and fell deeper. While playing, practicing, bating, etc. nothing feels out of the ordinary. Nothing feels pressured. It feels like home.
