Julia DeGirolamo '20 Recruiting Profile

    I was fortunate to be a part of a solid Varsity team my freshman year. However, I believe my junior year was when I grew the most as a player. I started strength/core training, moved to a new club team (NJ Heat), learned the rise ball, and became the starting pitcher for my high school Varsity team (Ocean Township). Ocean Township is in, arguably, the toughest Division of the Shore Conference with multiple teams ranked in the NJ Top 10. I enjoyed facing some of the best competition in NJ this year. One of the highlights of this season was my performance in the 2019 State game against Steinert, where we held them to just 2 hits and gave up one run. 

    I am a member of the National Honors Society and aspire to graduate in the top 10% of my high school class. I am searching for a college program that allows me to pursue further education while competing on the diamond. I am unsure of my major at this time; I am very good in math/science and am interested in criminology, teaching, and athletic training. 

    Softball has taught me so many life lessons at such a young age. I have acquired very good people skills, a strong work-ethic, and friends for life. I have played for multiple teams and have learned how to deal with adversity and quickly adjust to new environments. Some of my defining characteristics include: perseverance, commitment, enthusiasm, and my ability to remain calm- on and off of the mound- no matter the situation. I believe I have what it takes to be a successful collegiate athlete and to make a positive impact on your program.
