Personal Statement
I’m a shortstop from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. For over ten years now, I have been committed to the sport of softball. I attend Point Pleasant Borough High School as a member of the graduating class of 2020. Since freshman year, I have been playing varsity softball, and I currently maintain a GPA of 3.7, balancing a rigorous academic schedule including some honors courses. In addition to softball, academics are very important to me. I am driven and have an excellent work ethic to put in the work to get the grades I want. While I am unsure at the moment, I am considering studying in the fields of either math and science and have interest in possibly pursuing a career in physical therapy.
Competing in the softball World Series this past summer made me love softball even more. During this trip, I realized that I definitely want to play softball in college, that high school softball would not be enough. It was in this moment of realization that I decided I would work as hard as I needed to, both academically and athletically, to have the opportunity to continue to play softball at the collegiate level. I believe that softball is more than just a game. It teaches you many life skills that help you become the person you want to be. I love consistently working to improve my skills and that feeling of pride and accomplishment when you finally master what you have been working for. The feeling of pure hunger for more. That eagerness to play and to improve. That camaraderie you feel when you are a part of a team. This is softball to me. I would appreciate and cherish nothing more than having the ability to play softball in college.
