Personal Statement
Focused, hard work and dedication has always been important to me and has helped guide me throughout my athletic achievements. I am self-motivated and will do whatever is necessary to reach my full potential as a student and an athlete. Sports has been an integral part of my life as long as I can remember. No matter what the sport, I enjoy the competition and perform well under high pressure situations. I have participated in multiple sports from a young age, which include softball, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, and track. To keep in shape and increase my speed, I remain active on the high school winter track team. Softball will always be my passion. Its a game that I love to play and have excelled in. I started playing softball at the age of 6. I became interested in pitching and practiced on my own and became the starting pitcher at an early age. With having a strong arm, my coach began rotating me from catching to pitching. I stopped pitching and catching to develop my skills as a shortstop and third baseman. I played travel ball with the town of Westfield from 4-9th grade, in multiple tournaments. I was chosen multiple times to represent my team in the All-star game. Freshman year, I was a starting short stop on JV. As I continued to play softball, I could play around the diamond, except 1st base. Given the opportunity to continue my goal of achieving an education and doing what I love, which is softball, would truly be an amazing experience.
